Hum. Hey guys, I'm almost 17 and I can speak both english and french fluently thanks to an exchange program. At the beginning I wanted to find an english club on duolinguo to keep speaking english up but i find that topic so.. Anyway, if someone needs anything, or any advice in english I'm here and feel free to send me a message!

Je me permet de faire remonter le post, je suis en erasmus en Irlande pour un an. Je partais vraiment très loin en terme d'anglais et on va dire qu'au bout de deux mois, ça se débloque tout doucement. Pour autant j'ai peu de cours et j'aimerai bien lire et écouter plus d'anglais sur mon temps libre.

Je passe pas mal de temps sur mon ordinateur donc je suis à la recherche de blog, site, youtubeur, poadcast ... en anglais !

Peu importe le sujet : actualité, lifestyle, cuisine, beauté, économie ...( si ça traite cheval c'est un plus ), enfin des choses pas trop compliqué ( on évite les sujets scientifiques ^^ )

Great post! I'm fluent in English since I spent three years in the US when I was a bit younger. I'm also currently studying English, so that helps too! To practice regularly I watch everything (movie, series...) in English without subtitles, I read in English, and I write articles and stories in English too. I also speak it with my siblings.
I'd love to participate here to practice even more!

For chach_42, you can try nigahiga or smosh (both are youtubers - I'd personally recommend nigahiga over smosh but you can try taking a look into both). You can also change your Internet server's language into English, that way you'll only get websites in this language.

You can also try ESL (English as Second Language) podcasts. There are quite good, and deal with a lot of different subjects.

Hey ! Well, I am american, born in California, and I couldn't agree more with you ! English is awesome, and I think it's really good you're doing this post ! I mean, it IS the language of the century so everywhere you go, people will speak english. It is very usefull to know how to speak it, even if it is only a little bit !

My family lives in France and I live in Holland, my french is not very good and sometimes I really don't understand what is said on this forum.
For me it's great to have a topic like this since I can speak english on an ok level.

chach_42 if you want really to get the most of your stay in Ireland, try to avoid french people or people speaking French. The best thing is practice, practice and practice.... Even if you don't speak correctly. It will come. soon you will start dreaming in English!
An other good thing, is to wash the TV/series/films in English with English subtitle. This help to avoid confusion between the words written and spoken.

noukie97 yes of course. Let us know if you have some words you would like translated English to French or opposite.

mel312 Thanks a lot ! :) I do find that- in comparison with Holland, a lot of people in France don't know how to talk english. Why is that? Or is it just the region where my family lives? (auvergne)

noukie97 the teaching is in cause. Some might not be bad in written english but don t speak it well as not a lot of oral practice in class. Normal with 30+ student per class!
I had to move to uk to improve it.

skibiscuit Hi I speak English and French fluently because since I was 2 I moved to a country where everyone spoke English however since I'm French and Swedish I had to learn French and in my French school, learning English was an obligation so I learned English at a very young age and my dad speaks English fluently so I learned a lot from that ^_^ I've been around horses and been riding them for 8 years
