The post where we speak only in english

What a goooood idea ! Speaking english is a thing I really like,

When I was at school I was good in english (at a scolar level, obviously and with a magnificent french accent !), but unfortunately I don't have the occasion to speak english anymore in my professional life, what a pity

So it's a good new for me that you have decided to create this post and I hope it will work for a long time :)

There is a lot of mistake but it is still comprehensible. I've probably missed some but even someone who is native will as we do in french.

for the movies the best to improve your english is to watch then in english with subtitles in english. Otherwise you just read the frenc text and not listen to the voice.

there isn't no reason why you can't improve your english. Mine was bad at school. I wasn't bad in grammar but I was lacking a lot of vocabulary. So I made only 8/20 in english for the bacalaureat.
In order to improve it after my DUT, I went to an english university with the ERASMUS program.
I still to some mistake like everyone and still have a french accent but people understand me and I understand them 95% of the time. I still strugle with indian people but so english native speakers!

Hello everyone ! I didn't know this post ! I love speak english even if I make a lot of mistakes ! Can I join in ? I'm 23 years old, I always watch tv shows in English (without subtitles since few months), I wasn't good in english at school, bad teacher and all. I started watch tv in english 3 years ago and I can't switch in French anymore. I even help to translate some shows on a famous website. One of my friends made most of her studies in US so we often talk in English. She made me met a famous actor she knows well, and then I didn't know how to talk.
I'm not close to my family and I always wanted to leave France, so I'm making a project to go either in US or in Quebec. I think it's enough for a presentation ^^

What a good thing to have new followers in this post
I think watch(ing ?) TV in english is a really good thing, I start watching series in English there is 1 year I think and it's incredible how better it is than in French, because there is some jokes we can't understand in French (I think about How I met your Mother, there is a lot of words and expressions we can understand only in english). And today, I can't standing watch series in french anymore (not sure about how to say it : "je ne supporte plus de ..." ?), especially for the actor's voices.

Otherwise, what's up ? Have you spend a good week end ?

I feel the same ! Now I've started watching series in English, I find the French version really bad as if it is lacking something

I've been working in England during 1 month this summer, it was awesome !

I feel you Leamchouk & Melocotonmp about french voices. It's so baaaad. I mean french voices actors don't put enough passion, except for ONE scene on NCIS, I never found them good enough, for any shows. And I think when we know american voices, their voices timbres, and then we listen in French.. NO WAY ! The biggest mistake is on The Vampire Diaries, try to listen Joseph Morgan (Klaus Michaelson on the show) voice then his french voice, it's horrible !

For my week-end, personally I spent it in bed. I sprained my ankle last may and with the bad weather and my algodystrophy I couldn't put any weight on my foot. And you what did you do ?

Iammyself, how did you do ? I'm fond of British accent and I can't work there, I would be so concentrate on their voices and not on my work
One of my friend is British and everytime we talk he laughs because it's like I'm on high, in my own world. I really love his accent. Like australian accent

Because I was in Ireland few years ago "au pair" (I lost my level in English I don t speak since my travel) and after 3month I found a real job on a french "crêperie" in Ireland with a good pay
But for 1 men ( ) i became in France...
After I have meeting my futur husband(I hop) in France so I don t know what s happened if I was stay in Ireland

Since I finished school I don't have occasion to speak english anymore... that's why I really like to watch series and films in english, and speak here too :P

Last year, after a difficult break with my boyfriend, I planed to go a year in California as an "au-pair" girl, but my boyfriend went back and so I gave up my project... BUT ! Today I'm still with him (2 years together ) and I find a job a like, so ...

During my week end I did horse riding and "fiestaaaa" :P
