Posté le 11/05/2014 à 01h56

Hi girls or boys
and
welcome on...
The post where we speak only in english.

I am found of English.
Unfortunately, I'm not totally bilingual.

That is why I am trying to communicate with others people in English.

So, I open this subject. I would like here we speak only in English.
Therefore, the forum rules will apply.
Good humor, advice to improve ourselves in the practice of this language are welcome here.
And of course, google translator is totally prohibited because it says just about anythings.

I'm sorry for the mistakes

I hope see you soon

Maclem

@Klavel : you're really funny

As a matter of fact, most people say I'm bilingual too as my mum's English, reason why I have a British accent when I talk English. But I still feel like I have a lot to learn !

Meloncotonmp I think that the examiner doesn't say the same thing... But, the written test ( that's right, this word?) was easier and I had 14/20 in English, all in all Saved by my pen!

You should have a good level! We have always things to learn And it's fantastic, for me!
Recently, I'm trying to learn swedish... It's a very intersting language too

I would say that the most important things is to be understandable and to be able to understand ! And you too are fine, it's not a big deal to make mistakes as long as the others can understand. It might be ennoying for work but you have some time to learn !
I don't use english in my professionnal life but if my english coworkers plan a trip in England I will be the first to answer to come with them

That makes me think : djebeldesierra where do you live in England ? Do you ride there ?

@poloche54 You are a teacher/You teach of letter (we don't say this, usually it's included in 'literature'), isn't it/aren't you? (you used the 3rd person of the singular, but you are asking a direct question, so you need the 2nd person of the singular) You are teaching in college, high school, university... ?

klavel a écrit le 27/02/2015 à 13h34:

Thank you for your answer, @Poloche54!
Indeed, your job is not always easy, but I think it's interesting when you like it!
I have good memories of my french lessons in college ( excepted the grammar... My black beast!) and I love some books studied in it/them/those classes and in highschool...
Also, I have passed a literaly/literary? graduate in 2014
My studies (during) this year are not what I really want: now I work/I study for an exam in May 2015 and I do voluntary work in an associative restaurant the morning

One of her kidney's/kidneys'/kidneys is dead, the other one is dying so she's under/on morphine at the vet but we should have her at home this week-end

I've been learning how to drive for a few weeks now which is why I have my last hours today (I'll be in "conduite accompagnée"/accompanied driving(but it's not exaclty the same concept, people in England can get a 'provisional licence' without any tests and go driving with a parent immediately and never take lessons) tomorrow !). But I'm studying French right now, I have the "bac blanc"/mock (final) exam next week !

Your dog is just too cute

I'm so sorry to hear about you dog
At least she's in good care !

klavel a écrit le 27/02/2015 à 18h45:

Oh, really?
I have always ear/heard than/t "high school" is (for) "lycée in english of England lessons ( huuu, what I write (you only need 1 't' -> a vowel followed by double conconants is 'short' like in written ; a vowel followed by single consonant in long like in 'wirte') is very strange... Do you know what I mean? I wanna say "the english speaked/spoken in England but not in America")
Then...What's the good word for "lycée" ?

There isn't a correct word because the school systems are too different
You could say 'the french equivalent of 6th form', but they only have 2 years in 6th form, so it's not exactly the same

@Skan38 come back!
No one is bilingual, here, except @Djebeldesierra! I'm not good in english, my oral for the graduate (what do you mean? 'a graduate' in american english is a person who has graduated from high school; in english english, it is a person who has graduated from university; I think you mean for the baccalaureate exam?) was like the Malouine's war: terrible! And my grammer is like Patrick Sébastien: incredible by his nullity
But I try, I have nothing to lose but a lot to win!

My computer doesn't like english... I never see so much/many red highlighted words

Your english isn't bad at all
Of course there are mistakes but getting to a point where you do make many or any is very very difficult and long !

Melotocomp Do you have family in England then ? Where is your mom from ?
Even native speakers make mistakes !!

Poloche, I completely agree, being understood and understanding is all you need !
I was born in Oxford, but I currently study in Southampton. Usually I live in France though. I don't ride here, it's very expensive £20/lesson... I tried it and was put in the 'advanced' class and was always bored because some of the girls were even scared to canter...
And you're not allowed to brush or tack your own horse, staff do it for you, even if you say that you have experience...
Not enjoyable in my personal opinion

So cute kitties @klavel

Kitties are always cute!
Except my cat... She was physically cute when she was a kitty but she was very bitchy ( your food is mine... and your hand too... And your spirit, your minds, your sleep, and the cleanliness of your sofa!)

And she doesn't like Black Sabbath... But I love her
Yesterday at night, the ex-director of Radio France wanted to stold her! I meet the ex-director of Radio France

She have to lost... ONE THIRD of her weight?! I don't believe it... Ok, I agree: she's a little fat
What's her name?

Always, Lilisondu1741! One does simply be serious all a day when your name is Klavel!
Charlie is too kind, she does not want to create conjugal quarrel

Yes, more or less one third ! It's almost that the fat can't make a "plob plob" on the right/on the left so much she is fat If she lost one kg, that's will be already cool
But I love her, my baby cat

Her name is "Maïtika"...

Of course, she is tactful
